OUR NURSERY

Inside our Redditch Nursery

Aims & Objectives

  • Recognise that the child's needs and safety are paramount and override all other considerations.
  • Provide an environment that is not only safe but stimulating and happy.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals.
  • Take account of the children's needs arising from race, culture, language and religion.
  • Provide quality care and education for pre-school children.
  • Support the children's families.
  • Create a developmentally appropriate curriculum to meet the needs of each individual child.
  • Share information, resources and practical advice.
  • Formulate and encourage equal opportunities for both children and adults.
  • Support staff on training courses enabling them to develop skills and confidence through sharing full responsibility for their group.
  • We believe in providing top quality care for both you and your child and staff have many years of experience in catering for individual children's specific needs.

Settling In

When a child starts Rhymes Nursery they will receive some settling in visits to attend for a few hours with you leaving for short periods and then returning. These sessions are designed to minimise any upset for you and your child, helping your child settle into the nursery routine and get to know our staff.

Development Records

We maintain development records on all our children and these are available upon request.

Special Events

Rhymes Nursery provides trips and visitors to the nursery as often as possible.

Nursery News

To keep you up to date with nursery news you will receive a seasonal newsletter. Additional information is displayed within the nursery.

Meals & Refreshments

Rhymes Nursery will provide:

  • Children who are attending 8.00am - 6.00pm with breakfast and tea.
  • Children who attend 9.00am - 5.00pm will receive lunch.
  • Children who attend 8.00am - 1.00pm will receive breakfast and lunch.
  • Children who attend 1.00am - 6.00pm will receive tea.

Menus will be changed weekly and displayed on the notice board. Any special dietary requirements should be discussed with the nursery manager. We endeavour to work with parents to provide a nutritionally balanced diet.

We order our food from a local caterer who has a four week rolling menu - displayed on our notice board.

All children will be provided with drinks (milk, squash, water) and light refreshments during their day at nursery. For children under one year old at nursery, we ask parents to provide their own food and formula milk until they are ready to take nursery meals and parents/carers have become aware of all allergies.

If you would prefer your child to bring a packed lunch and tea instead of eating nursery meals then please discuss this with the nursery manager. We regret that we cannot reheat food.

Staff will always be available to discuss any concerns you may have and we welcome parents visiting the nursery at any time during the day.
